What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

What is Muay Thai
Originating in Thailand, Muay Thai can be described as the art of 8 limbs. It is a form of kickboxing that utilizes punches, kicks, knees and elbows, making it not only a great workout, but also one of the most effective forms of martial arts in the world.
Do I need clothing/equipment?
In any of our classes, during the trial you will only need clothing that you can exercise in. Afterward, depending on the class you sign up for, we have Titans branded Gi’s, and equipment needed for sparring available for purchase in the gym or online.
I'm not currently very fit.
No previous fitness level is required to take part in the classes. Most students find as they attend more days, their endurance increases, weight comes off, gain confidence, and want to push more. Everyone progresses differently and each person has different goals, you set the pace and effort you can/want to put in at every stage. Having an open mind and a willingness to learn will help you enjoy the classes and get in shape faster.
Do I need previous experience?
We are a family friendly gym that at the core provide fitness programs, and anti-bullying, for all our classes. We have classes to suit everyone from their first day to high level competition including UFC fighters. We will be here to support you in your personal goals.
What will the first class be like?
You will be introduced to an instructor that will make sure you are feeling comfortable and working at your own pace during the warmup and class. If a technique requires to be paired up, the instructor will pair you with an experienced student that will help and assist with fundamentals. If needed, the instructor will modify the exercise so you can work at a pace that works for you. Ask questions and talk to other students.
Will I get hurt?
While Titans promotes a safe gym environment and expect all students to follow this philosophy; During exercises classes, instructors are always looking out to ensure students are using correct form, to avoid injuries. As with any sport, there is minimal risk of injury.
How large are the classes?
All classes vary in size from day to day and depending on which class you take. There may be other classes, sessions, or private lessons going on the same time throughout the gym at the same time.
Are private lessons available?
We have private lessons available in the gym with our trainers, or you can have Peter Martell come to your location.
Am I expected to fight?
No. Martial Arts is for everyone and only those that want to compete do so. If you want to compete, we have classes and specific training to guide you at your own pace to help you reach your goals and dreams.
If I want to compete, how long until I can?
It all depends on how frequently and hard you train, and the martial art you want to compete in. We will work hard to make sure you have all tools necessary before you compete.
